Korean Drama Police University (2021) Review

Police University is a drama about the criminal searches of a veteran detective and a young former hacker. The two met by chance as professors and students of a Police University. From there, they work together to cooperate and investigate cases.

Coming to the drama “Police University”, Cha Tae Hyun plays as Yoo Dong Man, an enthusiastic person who has worked as a detective for 20 years in various departments, from violent crime to cybercrime. Currently, he works as a professor at a Police University and directly teaches a group of new students including Kang Sun Ho (Jinyoung) and Oh Kang Hee (Jung Soo Jung).

Taking on the role of Kang Sun Ho, Jinyoung transforms into a 19-year-old freshman student and former “infamous” smart hacker before entering the police school. Unfortunately, becoming an orphan of his parents in a car accident when he was only 10 years old, Sun Ho had to learn to face reality and be independent from an early age. That inadvertently made him gradually become a cool person, with no greed nor feelings for everything.

However, Sun Ho’s life was gradually changed when he began to enter a new environment, where he received a lot of attention and help from his classmates as well as the young professor Yoo Dong Man. Since then, Sun Ho has grown up step by step with the journey of realizing his dreams, discovering himself and finding love for himself.

Talking about Jinyoung’s appearance in the drama, the production team of Police University (Police Academy) shared, “Jinyoung has a special ability to attract people’s eyes to him. From pure to tough, the way he transforms and adds color to himself is exactly the same as the character Kang Sun Ho, who represents the current generation of young people. That’s why audiences won’t be able to miss Kang Sun Ho’s story in Police University.”

Besides, Jung Soo Jung (Krystal) is also a name that is no less competitive when participating in the drama as Oh Kang Hee, an upright and strong schoolgirl and also a character who will develop a relationship with Kang Sun Ho. As a girl with a will, Kang Hee always studies hard and works tirelessly to achieve her dream of becoming a police officer. But contrary to that tough exterior, inside she also exists mysteries and pain that others do not know.

Talking about her participation in this drama, the producer of Police University (Police Academy) also praised, “Jung Soo Jung has shown acting that perfectly suits the character Oh Kang Hee. We also expect the explosion of charm with special charm in the girl crush aura and Jung Soo Jung’s depth of gaze to be shown through the character in the drama. Let’s see the journey of growth and healing of the character Oh Kang Hee in the drama.”

Police University was written by screenwriter Kim Min Jung – who created the works: Who Are You: School (2015), Love In The Moonlight (2016), The Sound Of Magic (2021) ),… and produced by Yoo Kwan Mo, director of the movies: Perfume (2019), Woman of 9.9 Bilion (2019), Crevasse (2020).

In addition to the thrilling stories surrounding the investigation of the cases, ‘Police University’ is also a romantic comedy drama about the lives of young students in the University environment. With the participation of 3 talented & famous main faces Cha Tae Hyun, Jinyoung and Jung Soo Jung (Krystal), the film promises to be one of the expected works on the small screen this July.
