Trackhouse Racing has struggled with performance inconsistencies in the 2025 season, despite fielding a full roster of drivers including Ross Chastain, Daniel Suarez, and Shane van Gisbergen. The team has particularly faced challenges during qualifying sessions, preventing them from starting races in competitive positions. Chastain, currently ranked 11th in the drivers’ standings with a best finish of second in Texas, has acknowledged that the team’s difficulties stem from poor qualifying efforts, which hinder their ability to contend effectively during races.
Chastain expressed frustration over the team’s inability to qualify well, resulting in slower starts and lost opportunities. He emphasized the need for improvement, stating, “we’re just off” and that consistent qualifying results in the 30s are unacceptable given the resources available. Chastain has a strong desire to compete at the front of the pack rather than coming from behind and highlighted the continuous need to address qualifying performance.
Looking forward, Chastain remains optimistic about the team’s potential to turn their season around by collaborating with Chevrolet and ECR engines to identify and rectify performance shortcomings in qualifying and gain a competitive edge.
